red envelopes

Most of my Christmas cards have probably arrived by now, but year after year people send cards in RED envelopes! This may be festive, but how anyone can read the address I can't imagine. Whatever colour ink one uses it is virtually unreadable.

I say BAN red envelopes, not only for the sake of the Post Office staff and postcode reading machines, but for the recipients as well.

While writing about Christmas cards, may I add a plea that people try harder to write clearly or print not only the address, but inside as well. Each year I have a number of cards, without knowing who sent them because I can't read the name/signature. There is no return label, so I have to guess!

It is only once a year, so let's try a bit harder - please.
